Synopsis
Mozart and the Whale (2005) is a romantic drama you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Petter Næss. Donald handles impossible math in his head, yet an ordinary conversation leaves him stranded.
Donald (Josh Hartnett) has Asperger's syndrome, a form of autism that keeps him tethered to routine and afraid of anything unplanned. At a support group he meets Isabelle (Radha Mitchell), every bit as bright and unpredictable as he is. They fall hard. But two people who struggle to read emotion also wound each other fast, and the relationship keeps catching fire and falling apart.
Næss, who made the Oscar-nominated Elling, builds the film out of small everyday things rather than big speeches: a whale costume worn to a party, a polite lie that backfires, the dread of a changed plan. Ronald Bass wrote the script. It's a quiet one for viewers who like their feelings shown without sugar. Stream Mozart and the Whale (2005) online on iFILM.
