Inside

Inside (À l'intérieur, 2007) is a French horror film from Alexandre Bustillo and Julien Maury you can watch online on iFILM. Sarah is heavily pregnant, recently widowed, and spending Christmas Eve alone in an empty house. Then a woman knocks at the door.

The stranger wants in. When Sarah turns her away, she comes back after dark with a pair of scissors, and what she wants is the baby Sarah is carrying. The rest is a single-night siege: locked doors, a dead phone line, blood spreading across white walls. Béatrice Dalle plays the intruder with a cold, almost inhuman patience; Alysson Paradis is the cornered woman fighting to survive the night. A young Tahar Rahim turns up briefly, a couple of years before A Prophet.

This is one of the harshest entries in the New French Extremity wave, sitting beside Martyrs and Frontier(s). Seventy-five near-relentless minutes, shot so it's genuinely hard to look away.
