Maniac

Maniac (2012) is a first-person horror thriller you can watch online on iFILM. Frank restores mannequins in a quiet Los Angeles workshop by day. After dark, he hunts women and takes their scalps.

Almost the entire film unfolds through Frank's own eyes. The camera is his point of view, so you stalk the victims with him and only glimpse the killer in mirrors and shop windows. Director Franck Khalfoun uses that trick to trap you inside a broken mind. Frank's careful routine starts to crack when Anna (Nora Arnezeder), a young photographer, asks for help with her exhibition, and his suppressed urges push back against something that almost feels like love.

This is a reworking of William Lustig's grimy 1980 cult slasher, and Elijah Wood plays hard against type, switching between a soft, lost-boy voice and flat cruelty.
