Synopsis
Welcome to the Jungle (2013) is Rob Meltzer's comedy, ready to watch online on iFILM. A corporate team-building trip to a tropical island falls apart in the wildest way imaginable.
The staff of a design firm ships out to a deserted island to bond under the command of a self-styled survival expert, Storus, played by Jean-Claude Van Damme in full self-mocking mode. When the instructor is suddenly out of the picture, a group of polite office workers reverts to a primitive tribe within days — power grabs, a self-appointed leader, and palm-tree politics. Adam Brody, Rob Huebel and Kristen Schaal round out the cast.
Think Lord of the Flies played for cheap laughs in the cubicle era: it goes for absurdity over wit and rarely slows down. The real draw is Van Damme himself, clearly having a blast spoofing his own action-hero image. An easy, switch-your-brain-off pick for a lazy night.
