Rogue

Rogue (2020) is an action-survival thriller with Megan Fox that you can watch online on iFILM. Director M.J. Bassett drops a mercenary squad deep into the African bush, where the hunters quickly become the hunted.

Samantha O'Hara leads a small team in to rescue kidnapped girls, one of them the daughter of a regional governor. The captors hole up on an abandoned farm, and the extraction almost works. Almost. With their vehicles shot up and comms dead, the unit is stranded in open country while armed rebels close in. Worse still, the derelict farm was once a lion-breeding operation, and a starving lioness now reads these strangers as her next meal.

Shot in South Africa, the film straps two genres together: a rescue-the-team war picture and a flat-out creature survival horror. The CGI lion looks rough in places and the budget is modest, but Fox plays it hard and grime-streaked, no glamour. A subplot about canned-hunting farms gives the whole thing an unexpected point.
