Mr. Freeze has been hiding in the Arctic with his dying wife, Nora. To save her he needs a transplant, and the only match is Barbara Gordon — the commissioner's daughter, better known as Batgirl. He snatches her and holes up on an abandoned offshore oil rig. The clock starts the moment the surgery is prepped.

Kevin Conroy returns as the definitive voice of Batman, with Michael Ansara giving Freeze that cold, grief-stricken calm.
