Synopsis
Doctor Strange (2016) is a Marvel fantasy-action film you can watch online on iFILM. Scott Derrickson directs, and Benedict Cumberbatch plays the lead. Stephen Strange is a gifted neurosurgeon whose hands are wrecked in a car crash, and with them his whole career.
When medicine fails him, the broke and bitter doctor travels to Kathmandu and stumbles onto an order of sorcerers. His teacher, the Ancient One (Tilda Swinton), shows him how to bend space and time. Around him: the strict Mordo (Chiwetel Ejiofor), the deadpan librarian Wong (Benedict Wong), and Christine, the ex-colleague he left behind, played by Rachel McAdams. The threat is Kaecilius — Mads Mikkelsen as a zealot trying to pull a dark dimension into our reality.
Drawing on the Steve Ditko and Stan Lee comics, Derrickson turns the screen into a kaleidoscope: cities fold like origami, fights spill through mirrored corridors. Michael Giacchino scored it, and the climax is won by wit rather than fists. The film launched the mystic corner of the Marvel universe and grossed over 600 million dollars.
