Synopsis
The House of the Devil (2009) is Ti West's horror film, free to watch online on iFILM. Short on cash, college student Samantha takes a babysitting gig at a remote old house on the night of a full lunar eclipse.
There is no baby. The Ulmans, played by Tom Noonan and Mary Woronov, grow stranger by the minute, and Samantha is left alone in rooms where every creak on the stairs means something is wrong. West spends most of the runtime on slow dread and empty hallways before the whole thing tips into blood. Jocelin Donahue anchors the lead, with Greta Gerwig and Dee Wallace turning up along the way.
The look is a deliberate throwback to early-1980s horror: film grain, slow zooms, freeze-frame credits, the works. A great pick if you prize patience and suspense over jump scares. Stream The House of the Devil (2009) online on iFILM.
