Synopsis

The Sacrament (2014) is Ti West's found-footage horror film, and you can watch it online on iFILM. Two journalists travel with a friend to pull his sister out of an off-grid commune called Eden Parish. They came to shoot a documentary. They end up filming a disaster.

At first the place seems calm. Nearly two hundred people farm, sing, and thank a man they call Father for rescuing them from a cruel world. Gene Jones plays Father as a smiling old man in dark glasses who answers questions like sermons and tucks a threat into every line. The longer the cameras roll, the clearer it gets: behind the smiles are people who can't leave. When a young girl slips a note begging for help, the whole paradise cracks open in a single afternoon.

West takes obvious cues from the 1978 Jonestown tragedy but skips reenactment for tight, first-person dread, with Eli Roth producing. No monsters, no jump scares — the horror here is what faith and one man's grip can do to a crowd. Built for viewers who like slow, tightening fear. Stream The Sacrament online on iFILM.
