Internal Affairs (1990) is Mike Figgis's crime drama, available to watch online on iFILM. A rookie investigator in the LAPD's Internal Affairs division takes aim at a beat cop who lives far better than his paycheck should allow.

Raymond Avila and his partner Amy Wallace start pulling at the finances of Dennis Peck, a charming officer whose books never quite add up. Played by Richard Gere, Peck is smart, ice-cold and tangled in everything from bribery to murder. When the investigation gets close, he doesn't run — he turns on Avila, poisoning his marriage and his judgment until the chase becomes personal. Andy Garcia plays the cop being manipulated one nerve at a time.

Figgis skips the shootouts and builds a slow psychological duel where the weapons are suspicion and jealousy. Gere delivers one of his best villains: a man whose badge makes him more dangerous than any criminal he arrests. Watch for early turns from William Baldwin and Elijah Wood.
