Synopsis
House (1985) is Steve Miner's horror-comedy, and you can watch online on iFILM. Novelist Roger Cobb (William Katt), a Vietnam vet rattled by a divorce and the vanishing of his young son, moves into the spooky mansion his aunt left behind after she hanged herself in an upstairs bedroom.
Roger means to write an honest war memoir, but the house has other ideas. Doors open onto nowhere, toothy creatures crawl out of closets, and his combat nightmares start bleeding into the waking world. His nosy neighbor Harold, played by George Wendt of Cheers, drops by and instantly regrets it. The monsters are gloriously rubbery, built by eighties practical-effects crews who clearly had a blast.
Ethan Wiley wrote the script and Sean Cunningham, the man behind Friday the 13th, produced. This isn't a film that aims to terrify; it's a funhouse ride, light on scares and heavy on goofy mayhem. If you love rubber-suit creatures and pitch-black comedy, you'll have a great time. Stream House (1985) online on iFILM.
