Synopsis
Green Lantern: Emerald Knights (2011) is a DC Universe animated feature you can watch online on iFILM. Rather than one plot, it weaves six connected tales from the lore of the Green Lantern Corps into a single arc.
On the planet Oa, the Corps braces for war against Krona, an ancient foe of the Guardians of the Universe. As the threat nears, Hal Jordan (voiced by Nathan Fillion) prepares rookie recruit Arisia by telling her the stories that hold the ring-bearers together. There's the saga of the very first Lantern, the grit of drill-sergeant Kilowog, and an uneasy chapter on Sinestro, still an ally for now. Each segment comes from a different team with its own tone, swinging from pure heroics to near-horror, with Jason Isaacs and Elisabeth Moss among the voices.
Directed by Lauren Montgomery, Jay Oliva and Christopher Berkeley, it's built for viewers who want the Lantern mythology in more depth than the big live-action blockbusters offered, and who enjoy an anthology where willpower matters more than raw super-strength.
