Mr. Harrigan's Phone

Mr. Harrigan's Phone (2022) is the supernatural drama adapted from Stephen King that you can watch online on iFILM. Set in a small Maine town in the early 2000s, it follows teenager Craig, who earns pocket money reading old novels aloud to a reclusive billionaire next door.

Donald Sutherland plays the gruff hermit Harrigan; Jaeden Martell, the kid from It, plays Craig. An odd friendship grows between two lonely people. Craig gives the old man his first iPhone, and Harrigan, to everyone's surprise, takes to the gadget. When he dies, the grieving boy slips the phone into his coffin, and the next morning a reply lands from that very number. Soon anyone who crosses Craig meets a grim fate.

John Lee Hancock directs, with Ryan Murphy producing for Netflix. The horror here is quiet, no jump scares, more a parable about grief, revenge, and how a smartphone became a leash we can't put down.
