Synopsis
Flight of the Intruder (1991) is a Vietnam War action film you can watch online on iFILM, directed by John Milius. Lt. Jake Grafton flies the A-6 Intruder off a carrier deck — a bomber with no guns to defend itself, trusted only to the steadiest hands in the Navy.
When his bombardier is killed on a run, Grafton is paired with Virgil Cole, a hard-bitten veteran played by Willem Dafoe. Both men are sick of dropping ordnance on empty jungle while the brass picks safe targets. So they plan a strike of their own, one that could end in a court-martial — if they make it back at all. Brad Johnson leads as Grafton, with Danny Glover as their commanding officer, Frank Camparelli.
Adapted from former naval aviator Stephen Coonts' novel, the flying sequences feel earned: real A-6 aircraft, real carrier launches, none of it faked.
