Hot Rod

Hot Rod (2007) is Akiva Schaffer's absurdist comedy headlined by Andy Samberg, and you can watch it online on iFILM. Rod Kimble fancies himself a fearless stuntman, even though most of his jumps end face-first in a ditch.

Convinced he inherited his nerve from a daredevil racer father, Rod just wants respect from his gruff stepdad Frank, who beats him senseless in weekly backyard sparring sessions. When Frank falls gravely ill, Rod cooks up his wildest stunt yet: clear fifteen buses on a moped to fund the operation, so Frank can recover and Rod can finally kick his butt fair and square. The logic runs about as smoothly as his junky bike.

The Lonely Island crew built the whole thing, and the humor shows it: deranged forest dance breaks, nonsense arguments, and a deep bench with Isla Fisher, Bill Hader, Danny McBride and Ian McShane.
