Cyborg

Cyborg (1989) is Albert Pyun's post-apocalyptic action film, and you can watch it online on iFILM. Future America is a ruin, a plague is loose, and law and order are a memory.

The one hope is a cyborg named Pearl Prophet, who carries the data for a cure inside her. On her way to the scientists who can synthesize it, she's grabbed by a gang led by the brutal Fender Tremolo (Vincent Klyn), who wants the cure all to himself. A lone mercenary, Gibson Rickenbacker (Jean-Claude Van Damme), agrees to escort her across the scorched wasteland. He's got his own score to settle with Fender, and it cuts deep.

Shot fast and cheap, and it shows, but that grimy, low-budget grit is exactly what made it a cult favorite among 80s trash-action fans. Van Damme is in peak shape here: splits, spin kicks, barely a word of dialogue. Pure genre adrenaline for old-school fans. Stream Cyborg (1989) online on iFILM.
