Nightbreed

Nightbreed (1990) is Clive Barker's dark fantasy horror, available to watch online on iFILM. A young man named Boone becomes convinced he committed a string of brutal murders — a belief planted in his head by his own psychiatrist.

Boone runs for Midian, a buried city out of legend where every sin is supposedly forgiven. What he finds is the Nightbreed: an ancient race of shapeshifters, undead and monsters hiding from daylight and human eyes. The creatures take Boone in as one of their own, while the real killer — Dr. Decker, who hunts in a stitched button-faced mask — leads the police straight toward Midian. Lori, who loves Boone, races to reach him first. David Cronenberg himself plays the soft-spoken psychiatrist.

Barker adapted his own novella Cabal and flipped the genre's rules: here the monsters are the hunted and the armed humans are the threat.
