BASEketball

BASEketball (1998) is a sports comedy you can watch online on iFILM. Two slackers from Milwaukee mash basketball together with the rules of baseball in a driveway, and a couple of years later the whole country is hooked. Playing the pair of idiots: Trey Parker and Matt Stone, the guys behind South Park.

The game's gimmick is the psych-out — you only sink a shot if the defender can't trash-talk you out of it, and that's where half the jokes live. Coop and Remer run their own league where every team earns the same and nobody relocates for cash. Then a wealthy rival owner sets out to rewrite the rules and tear the whole utopia apart. Director David Zucker, the mind behind Airplane! and The Naked Gun, packs the frame with gags and a parade of real sportscaster cameos.

The humor is crude, juvenile and totally unfiltered, exactly what you'd expect from the South Park duo turned loose on a movie. It aims for nothing but laughs and earns plenty of them. Stream BASEketball (1998) online on iFILM.
