Synopsis

Wait Until Dark (1967) is a thriller you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Terence Young and led by Audrey Hepburn. Susy Hendrix has recently lost her sight, and a doll stashed with heroin has ended up in her apartment.

Three con men want it back, and the one calling the shots is Roat, a soft-spoken psychopath played by Alan Arkin. Rather than break in, they stage an elaborate con — fake identities, planted phone calls, a whole performance built to trick a blind woman into handing over the hiding place. Susy starts to sense the lies stacking up. Her one edge is darkness, the only place where the men who can see lose their advantage too.

Adapted from Frederick Knott's Broadway play, the film is a model of tight, single-apartment suspense, and its pitch-black climax remains one of the most genuinely frightening sequences of the decade. Hepburn earned an Oscar nomination for the role. If you like old-school tension that runs on nerves instead of effects, this one delivers. Stream Wait Until Dark (1967) online on iFILM.
