Synopsis

Barb Wire (1996) is a David Hogan action picture you can watch online on iFILM. Pamela Anderson stars as the owner of a nightclub called the Hammerhead in Steel Harbor, the last neutral zone in a United States torn apart by a second civil war. She runs the bar by night, takes mercenary jobs on the side, and hates the nickname "Barb Wire" almost as much as being called babe.

Her uneasy routine cracks when Axel Hood, an old flame, turns up in town. He's escorting a scientist whose research on a biological weapon could tip the whole war, and the only way to keep her safe is smuggling her across the border into Canada. Barb gets dragged into the fight she wanted no part of, pulled back by her brother and old feelings she never quite buried. Temuera Morrison and Udo Kier round out the cast. The plot openly remixes Casablanca into a neon dystopia of motorcycles, leather and gunfire.

Adapted from the Dark Horse comic, it's a loud, kitschy time capsule of the mid-90s that never pretends to be anything more. Best suited to fans of trashy genre action and anyone nostalgic for the video-store aisle. Stream Barb Wire (1996) online on iFILM.
