Synopsis

Honey, We Shrunk Ourselves (1997) is a family sci-fi comedy you can watch online on iFILM. Tinkering scientist Wayne Szalinski misfires his shrink ray one more time and zaps himself, his brother and both their wives down to the size of a paperclip.

This third and final entry keeps the action mostly on one living-room floor. Rick Moranis returns as the hapless inventor, and the four miniature adults have to get the attention of their kids, who assume the grown-ups skipped town and promptly throw a house party. A cockroach turns into a monster, a cookie becomes a mountain, and a toy car doubles as a rescue vehicle. Watch for a young Mila Kunis and Allison Mack in early roles.

The film marked the directing debut of Dean Cundey, the cinematographer behind Back to the Future and Who Framed Roger Rabbit. It went straight to video and is the lightest chapter in the series, but for a kids' movie night it does the job: 74 brisk minutes, no filler, plenty of giant-cereal close-ups. Stream Honey, We Shrunk Ourselves (1997) online on iFILM.
