A writer pitches a story. A director has other ideas. Actors add their own. By the time the editor is done, the original pitch is barely recognizable. Khitruk walks the viewer through every stage of production with deadpan patience, letting the institutional chaos speak for itself. Georgy Vitsin voices the lead with a wonderfully deflated air.
