The Great Alibi

The Great Alibi (Le Grand Alibi, 2008) is a French detective thriller you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Pascal Bonitzer.

The setup is classical: a weekend at Senator Henri Pagès' country house, the usual crowd. One guest turns up dead — Pierre Collier, a psychoanalyst whose private life was considerably less orderly than his professional one. His wife Claire is found near the body, gun in hand. The motive seems obvious; the gun turns out not to be the murder weapon. Lieutenant Grangy works through the guests one by one, and the alibi of each begins to crack. Miou-Miou, Valérie Bruni Tedeschi, Lambert Wilson and Emmanuelle Riva head the ensemble.
