Sabine Azéma and André Dussollier play the parents who slowly slide from doting to nearly cruel, while Éric Berger's Tanguy refuses, cheerfully, to take the hint.

Chatiliez, the director of Life Is a Long Quiet River, pushes the domestic warfare into absurdity with his trademark mean tenderness.
