Stan Helsing

Stan Helsing (2009) is a horror-comedy spoof you can watch online on iFILM. A slacker video-store clerk happens to share a surname with cinema's most famous monster hunter, and that is roughly where his luck ends.

It is Halloween night, and Stan (Steve Howey) gets roped into dropping off overdue tapes with his best friend and two cute girls in tow. One wrong turn lands them in a creepy suburb run by lightly renamed versions of the slasher greats. Leatherface, Freddy, Jason, Chucky, Myers and Pinhead all show up under slightly altered names, instantly recognizable. Stan, who jumps at his own shadow, somehow has to survive the whole crew. Kenan Thompson tags along for laughs, and Leslie Nielsen turns up in one of his final screen roles.

The humor is deliberately goofy, the jokes never let up, and the whole thing is aimed squarely at people who grew up on 1980s slashers. Good pick if you have burned through every Scary Movie and want more of the same nonsense. Stream Stan Helsing (2009) online on iFILM.
