Synopsis
The Hater (Sala samobójców. Hejter, 2020) is a Polish thriller by Jan Komasa, and you can watch it online on iFILM. Expelled for plagiarism, law student Tomasz lands a job at a PR firm that sells smear campaigns by the hour.
The work is brutally simple: drown reputations, manufacture outrage, turn strangers against each other for a fee. Tomasz turns out to be gifted at it. Off the clock, he keeps circling the wealthy family that once paid his tuition, and their daughter Gabi. Resentment, envy and a craving to belong build under his calm surface until a troll operation against a liberal mayoral candidate spills off the screen and into real blood.
Komasa frames this as a loose follow-up to Suicide Room, but it works on its own. Maciej Musiałowski plays the manipulator with zero warmth, which is exactly what makes him so unsettling.
