This one retells the human–Cylon war from the other side of the line. It loops back to the nuclear strike on the Twelve Colonies and reworks the events of the first two seasons through enemy eyes. At its core are two copies of Cavil, the Number One model (Dean Stockwell): one buried inside Galactica's crew, the other left behind on Caprica. The extermination didn't take. A handful of humans lived, and now the machines have to improvise. Why the sleeper agents act the way they do, and how the so-called plan starts coming apart, is the real subject here.

Go in having already finished the series, because out of that context a lot of it won't land, while for fans it fills in missing pieces of the puzzle. Stockwell carries most of the drama, turning a cold zealot into something close to tragic. Tricia Helfer and Grace Park return in familiar roles.
