Soldier

Soldier (1998) is a science-fiction action film by Paul W. S. Anderson, starring Kurt Russell, that you can watch online on iFILM. Sergeant Todd was pulled into the army as an infant and raised for one purpose only: to kill.

Forty-odd years of combat make Todd the best man in his unit. Then the brass rolls out a new breed of fighter, genetically engineered to outclass every veteran. Todd loses the test bout and gets dumped on Arcadia, a waste planet buried under scrap metal and dead ships. A handful of stranded settlers nurse him back. For the first time he sees a family, a home, a kid sleeping safe, things no drill ever taught him. Then the new soldiers land to wipe out the colony, and one obsolete man has to stand in their way.

David Webb Peoples, who wrote Blade Runner, scripted this one and called it a side branch of that same universe. Russell played it almost mute on purpose, speaking only around a hundred words across the whole film and acting mostly with his eyes.
