Space Pirate Captain Harlock (キャプテンハーロック, 2013) is a Japanese CG animated sci-fi film from Toei Animation — watch online on iFILM. Earth is overcrowded, the planet's last resources are locked away, and the authoritarian Gaia Sanction controls what remains. Captain Harlock and the crew of the ghost ship Arcadia are the only ones still flying free.

To bring him down, the Sanction sends in a young operative named Yama, who boards Arcadia as a spy. What he finds there is not the enemy he expected. Director Shinji Aramaki, known for the Appleseed CG films, built the visuals on photorealistic computer animation that was ahead of its time for anime features in 2013. The story draws from Leiji Matsumoto's iconic manga series, which launched in 1977 and defined a generation of Japanese space opera.
