Synopsis
Operation Condor (1991) is a Jackie Chan stunt-action adventure you can watch online on iFILM. Chan directs, choreographs, and stars as the Asian Hawk, a fortune hunter hired to dig up Nazi gold left buried in the Sahara since the war.
A wealthy baron hands the Hawk a key to the hidden cache and bankrolls the trip, sending an Africa expert named Ada along whether he likes it or not. They soon pick up Elsa, a German woman tracing a grandfather who vanished in the same desert; the old military base holding the gold is her last lead. From there it's chases across the dunes, an abandoned Nazi bunker, and a crowd of rival treasure seekers who caught the same scent. The climax inside a wind-tunnel facility — Chan fighting off mercenaries among enormous spinning fans — has earned its place in any reel of great stunt work. No doubles, almost no digital tricks, every hit landed for real.
This is the second Armour of God film, made on one of the biggest budgets Hong Kong cinema had seen at the time. The plot is just an excuse; stay for the choreography, where Chan brawls like he's dancing and clowns between punches. A perfect doorway into his prime.
