Synopsis
Chinese Zodiac (2012) is Jackie Chan's globe-trotting action-adventure, and you can watch it online on iFILM. A treasure hunter known as Asian Hawk takes a lucrative job hunting down the missing bronze animal heads from the Chinese zodiac.
The twelve sculptures once decorated a fountain at the imperial Summer Palace outside Beijing, until foreign troops torched and looted the grounds during the Second Opium War over a century and a half ago. The scattered heads now turn up with private collectors and at high-end auctions. Hawk and his crew of mercenaries chase them across the planet, from a European chateau to a remote Pacific island, and he starts rethinking the whole deal once he learns who these relics really belong to.
Chan directed, co-wrote and starred, and this stands as one of his last big stunt-driven leads. His roller-suit free-fall sequence even landed him multiple Guinness World Records on a single film. The tone is warm and family-friendly, leaning on old-school practical stunts with no doubles. It's a treat for longtime Jackie Chan fans who aren't here for heavy drama.
