About

Synopsis

Detroit Rock City (1999) is a music-fueled comedy adventure you can watch online on iFILM. It's 1978, and for four high school friends nothing on earth matters more than Kiss. When the band books a show near Detroit, the guys will do absolutely anything to score tickets.

Then the tickets slip away, kicking off one gloriously chaotic night: a borrowed family car, an amateur night at a strip club, a mob of religious protesters, and yes, a convenience store stickup. Edward Furlong leads the pack, with Natasha Lyonne and Melanie Lynskey turning up along the way, all directed by Adam Rifkin at full disco-rock throttle.

The movie nails the late-seventies vibe down to the leather jackets, the face paint and the teenage urge to blow past every rule. Kiss themselves signed off on it, and the soundtrack roars accordingly. It's pure retro fun for anyone raised on loud guitars. Stream Detroit Rock City (1999) online on iFILM.
