Synopsis
The Shaggy Dog (2006) is Brian Robbins' family comedy, and you can watch it online on iFILM. Dave Douglas is a workaholic deputy district attorney who never has a minute for his wife or kids — until a very odd dog sinks its teeth into him.
Dave is prosecuting a case against a shady lab running genetic experiments on animals, and one of their serums ends up in his bloodstream. Now the buttoned-up lawyer keeps turning into a shaggy sheepdog at the worst possible moments: chasing balls, growling at colleagues, chewing the furniture. Tim Allen commits fully to the bit, with Kristin Davis as his wife, Danny Glover on the case, and a gleefully villainous Robert Downey Jr. running the corporation behind the drug.
The gag is simple but it lands: a man has to spend time as a dog before he can figure out how to be a decent dad. Loosely remade from Disney's 1959 original, it's aimed squarely at a no-pressure family movie night with the kids. Goofy, warm, and carried entirely by Allen's canine antics.
