9-1-1: Lone Star (Seasons 1–5)
Tough enough for Texas.
Synopsis
9-1-1: Lone Star (2020) is FOX's first-responder drama you can watch online on iFILM. Veteran New York firefighter Owen Strand relocates to Austin, Texas, to rebuild a station gutted by an explosion. It's the spin-off of the hit procedural 9-1-1, transplanted to the Lone Star State.
Rob Lowe plays Owen, who staffs his new house with the kind of crew small-town Texas rarely puts on a truck: transgender and queer firefighters, women on shift, outsiders of every stripe. His son T.K. comes along carrying his own addiction baggage. On the police and medical side are Captain Grace Ryder (Gina Torres) and a paramedic played by Liv Tyler, while Owen quietly hides a diagnosis that could end him. Every episode throws a fresh disaster at them: tornadoes, collapses, fires, calls that defy belief.
Creators Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Tim Minear carried the original's rescue formula to Texas and dialed up the melodrama and the social texture. The show ran for several seasons and built a loyal following. If you like rescue procedurals that swap action with the team's personal turmoil, it goes down easy.
