The Penguin (2024) is an HBO crime series you can watch online on iFILM. Spun off from Matt Reeves' The Batman, it buries Colin Farrell under heavy prosthetics as Gotham gangster Oswald "Oz" Cobb.

The city is drowning after the seawall collapse, and the criminal underworld has no king now that Carmine Falcone is dead. Oz, a lifelong lackey, smells his opening to climb the ladder and finally give his mother the life he keeps promising her. Standing in his way is Falcone's daughter Sofia (Cristin Milioti), fresh out of Arkham Asylum and unwilling to surrender the family operation. What follows is a vicious power struggle in which Oz lies, betrays and kills while playing the harmless working-class striver.

Across eight episodes, the show trades neon-soaked, rain-slicked Gotham for something heavier than a comic-book action piece. Milioti plays Sofia as a woman wrecked by her own bloodline, and Farrell makes the Penguin both pathetic and frightening. The series is complete, so you can watch it end to end.
