Synopsis
The Forgotten Battle (De Slag om de Schelde, 2021) is a Dutch war drama from Matthijs van Heijningen Jr. that you can watch online on iFILM. Three lives pull toward the same patch of waterlogged ground. Marnix, a young Dutchman, has put on the wrong uniform and now fights for the side he loathes. William (Jamie Flatters), a British glider pilot, crash-lands and has to work his way back across enemy lines. And Teuntje, a local doctor's daughter, tries to stay clear of it all until events drag her into the Resistance. When their paths finally meet, not everyone walks away.
The story rests on one of the bloodiest yet least-remembered clashes of the western campaign. Tom Felton turns up in a supporting role. It is handsomely mounted and free of gloss: large-scale combat sits next to quiet scenes of choice, where a wrong call costs someone their life.
