Late 1942. The 918th Bomb Group has been chewed apart mission by mission. Savage arrives and squeezes every man in the unit — no excuses, no softness, no favored pilots. The crews hate him for it. Then the losses keep coming, and something shifts. What looks like cold authority turns out to carry its own breaking point.
Released in 1949, the film became required viewing at the Air Force Academy and remains one of Hollywood's sharpest studies of military leadership under pressure. Stream Twelve O'Clock High (1949) in full on iFILM.
