Synopsis
The Postcard Killings (2020) is a grim European thriller you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Oscar winner Danis Tanovic. NYPD detective Jacob Kanon flies to Rome to bury his daughter and her new husband, both butchered on their honeymoon.
That double murder turns out to be the opening move. A killer is working his way across the continent — Stockholm, London, Madrid — staging each crime as a macabre tableau and mailing a warning first: a postcard quoting Shakespeare, stamped with a local landmark, posted before the bodies are even found. Stripped of jurisdiction, Kanon teams up with Dessie, a Swedish reporter the cards keep reaching. Jeffrey Dean Morgan carries the grief; Famke Janssen plays the wife he can barely look at anymore.
Adapted from the James Patterson and Liza Marklund novel, the film cares less about whodunit than about what revenge does to a father over the long haul. Morgan's hollowed-out lead is the reason to stick around. One for viewers who like their procedurals bleak and continent-hopping. Stream The Postcard Killings (2020) online on iFILM.
