Synopsis
Poltergeist III (1988) is Gary Sherman's horror sequel you can watch online on iFILM. Carol Anne Freeling is hidden high inside a glass Chicago skyscraper, living with her aunt and uncle to escape the spirit hunting her.
The idea was distance: a new city, a new family, a chance for the girl to feel ordinary. Reverend Kane doesn't honor distance. Mirrors in the tower start showing reflections that move on their own, and the building turns hostile floor by floor. Bruce and Patricia Gardner (Tom Skerritt and Nancy Allen) can't explain what's clawing at their home, while their teenage daughter Donna ends up closest to the danger. Heather O'Rourke plays Carol Anne one final time.
Sherman leans on cold air, ice and warped glass instead of gore, shooting almost every effect live on set rather than faking it in post.
