Candyman

Visual artist Anthony McCoy moves into the gentrified shell of Cabrini-Green, a Chicago neighborhood haunted by decades of violence. An old local named Burke tells him the story: say "Candyman" five times in the mirror and something with a hook for a hand will answer. Anthony turns the legend into gallery art. Then the bodies start appearing.

DaCosta threads the supernatural with a pointed look at how myths are built on top of real suffering — racial violence, displacement, erasure.
