Synopsis
Radio Days (1987) is Woody Allen's comedy-drama, and you can watch it online on iFILM. Late-1930s New York, a crowded Jewish household in Rockaway, and one constant in every room: the radio, back when it ran daily life instead of the television set.
A grown narrator looks back on his boyhood as young Joe, whose dad keeps switching jobs, whose aunt keeps hunting for a husband, and whose relatives argue across every dinner. Joe just wants a secret-decoder ring from his favorite show. Woven through it is a second thread about the people on the other side of the dial: a cigarette girl named Sally chasing fame at the microphone, announcers, crooners, and the tall tales that grew up around them. Diane Keaton turns up to sing in a New Year's number; Mia Farrow floats through the on-air crowd.
There is no single plot here, only mood: dozens of tiny scenes stitched together by voiceover, music and warmth. That loose, scrapbook shape is exactly why people rewatch it. If you love early Allen and the texture of pre-war New York, this one lands. Stream Radio Days (1987) online on iFILM.
