Magic in the Moonlight

Colin Firth plays Stanley, a sour rationalist who treats séances as plain trickery. Emma Stone is Sophie, the medium who claims to speak with the dead and has already charmed a wealthy family. Stanley expects to expose her in a day or two. It goes the other way: the longer he watches, the harder her tricks are to explain, and the more his faith in cold reason starts to crack. Marcia Gay Harden, Jacki Weaver and Eileen Atkins round out the cast.
