Synopsis

The Shadow (1994) is a noir-tinged fantasy action film you can watch online on iFILM. Alec Baldwin plays Lamont Cranston, a former opium warlord who reinvents himself in a Tibetan monastery and returns to New York as a masked vigilante. Russell Mulcahy directs.

What Cranston brought back from the East is unusual: he can cloud men's minds and vanish from sight. Cloaked in black with a slouch hat, he hunts criminals after dark. Then a true rival surfaces — Shiwan Khan (John Lone), the last descendant of Genghis Khan, who means to ransom the city with an atomic bomb and rule the world from its ashes. On the Shadow's side is socialite Margo Lane (Penelope Ann Miller), who can read his thoughts. Ian McKellen and Tim Curry round out the cast.

Drawn from the pulp magazines and radio serials of the 1930s, the movie leans hard into art deco towers, fog-soaked streets and that sinister signature laugh. As superhero cinema goes, it's a fascinating relic from before the shared-universe era — visually rich, narratively thin, and a treat for retro pulp fans. Stream The Shadow (1994) online on iFILM.
