Duplicity

Julia Roberts and Clive Owen star as two career liars who fall into bed together while plotting to swindle each other blind. Rival consumer-goods empires have hired them, and the bosses — played by Tom Wilkinson and Paul Giamatti — will torch anything to grab a formula worth a fortune. Claire and Ray have a side scheme of their own: steal the secret, vanish, get rich. Trouble is, neither one can fully trust a partner who lies for a living.

Gilroy assembles the plot like a watchmaker, doubling back through flashbacks and feints until you're not sure who conned whom.
