Synopsis
Queen of the Ring (2025) tells the true story of Mildred Burke, and you can watch it online on iFILM. In 1930s America women's pro wrestling was outlawed in nearly every state. A small-town waitress raising a son on her own steps into exactly the danger the law forbids her — fighting for money in front of jeering crowds.
Promoter Billy Wolfe spots her talent, trains her, marries her, and then becomes the man she has to protect both her career and her child from. Mildred works the carnival circuit and back-room arenas, pinning the men sent in to "teach her a lesson" and packing houses wherever she goes. What starts as a sideshow act turns into a name other women follow into the ring. Emily Bett Rickards plays Burke, with Josh Lucas, Tyler Posey and Walton Goggins around her.
Director Ash Avildsen builds a 140-minute portrait of the first woman in any sport to earn a million dollars — in an era that wouldn't even let her compete legally. The film lands hardest not in the staged matches but in the price she pays for every win once she steps off the mat. A solid pick for anyone drawn to biopics about people who refused the rules handed to them. Stream Queen of the Ring (2025) online on iFILM.
