Synopsis

Following a conspiracy that brought down Menshikov, the young Peter II rushes to his coronation in Moscow, declaring himself of age ahead of schedule. Eight Dolgorukov brothers gather for the occasion — scions of the ancient Rurikovich line, every one of them angling for power. Among them is the beautiful Ekaterina, daughter of the royal huntsman, whom the family intends to place beside the emperor.
