Synopsis
The Abandoned (查無此心, 2023) is a Taiwanese crime thriller you can watch online on iFILM. An unidentified body surfaces in a river, and the case lands on a detective who is already barely holding herself together.
That corpse turns out to be the first of many. The victims are undocumented migrants — people the system would rather not count, which means almost no one is looking for their killer. Janine Chang's investigator works the murders while fighting her own urge to give up, slowly closing in on a predator who hunts the most defenseless people he can find. Ethan Juan plays a partner whose role runs deeper than it first appears. Director Tseng Ying-ting shoots it cold and wet, soaked in the gray of endless Taiwanese rain.
