Synopsis
Detective Chinatown 1900 (唐探1900, 2025) is a mystery-comedy with action muscle that you can watch online on iFILM. This prequel chapter of the Detective Chinatown franchise, directed by Chen Sicheng and Dai Mo, drops the series into San Francisco at the turn of the century.
A white woman turns up dead in Chinatown, and a Chinese man is blamed almost on sight — for the mob, his ethnicity is evidence enough. With the Chinese Exclusion Act hanging over everything, an ambitious politician inflates the case, hoping to shut the district down and ride the panic into the mayor's office. Untangling it falls to Qin Fu, a traditional-medicine doctor, and a hunter nicknamed Ah Gui who grew up straddling two cultures.
