Synopsis
"The Overnighters" (2014) is a documentary you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Jesse Moss and shot in Williston, North Dakota, at the height of the oil boom.
Men arrive by the busload every week — broke, carrying criminal records, or just out of options — chasing the promise of oil-field wages. Pastor Jay Reinke opens his church and parking lot to them, night after night, against the wishes of his congregation and the town. Reinke keeps saying yes. The cost of that decision accumulates quietly, then arrives all at once.
The film took the Special Jury Prize at Sundance 2014. Stream "The Overnighters" online on iFILM.
