Synopsis
Darkland: The Return (Underverden 2, 2023) is Fenar Ahmad's Danish crime action film, and you can watch online on iFILM. It picks up the story of a cardiologist who once walked into Copenhagen's underworld to avenge his brother and never fully climbed back out.
Zaid (Dar Salim) is in prison now, a stranger to his own young son, Noah. A police agent offers him a deal: early release in exchange for infiltrating the city's gangs. Zaid takes it, hoping to reclaim a scrap of the family life he threw away. The trouble is the price tag — the deeper he sinks into the operation, the closer the danger creeps to his boy. Once you're part of the underworld, walking away is never clean.
Ahmad again leans on bruising street-level fights and moral grime instead of gloss; this is Nordic noir with no heroes in white. Dar Salim — Jake Gyllenhaal's partner from The Covenant — carries the whole thing on his shoulders. It's for fans of grim European action where every move costs something.
